Unit 1 Table 1 Period 7 Wiki

Unit 1 Wiki was created by Maddie, Alex, Robby, and Taku to organize our Science Unit 1. In this unit, we focussed on Investigation and Experimentation. Throughout the unit, we learned techniques and concepts to use with our Science Fair Projects. During the activities Mr.Ozeni gave us, we learned and practiced writing a well written hypothesis, writing a well setted procedure, creating a well designed experiment, collecting well identified quantitative data, graphing the quantitative data, analyzing the data, and writing a well written conclusion. At the right, there is Side Bar that contains the activities our table did together.

8th Grade Science Standards Covered:

Scientific progress is made by asking meaningful questions and conducting careful investigations. As a basis for understanding this concept and    addressing the content in the other three strands, students should develop their own questions and perform investigations. Students will:

1. Plan and conduct a scientific investigation to test a hypothesis.
2. Evaluate the accuracy and reproducibility of data.
3. Distinguish between variable and controlled parameters in a test.
4. Construct appropriate graphs from data and develop quantitative statements about the relationships between variables.
